ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN II

Project 2 - Introspective Architectural Folly

PROJECT TASK / OVERVIEW:

In this project, each student have to work in pairs or three person in a group to design a Architectural Folly that has spatial experience without any context. We have to further the architectural principle derived from Project I, and then generate form and craft an appropriate space for rethinking and reflect with a maximum volume of 125m3.Also, we have to explore about the materiality as well , not just timber.

DESIGN INTENTION

The concept of Revivify establishes a journey to allow users to experience revivification even though being in the sudden pandemic outburst. The folly reflects the users’ psychological journey, distracts the user from chaotic thoughts and stimulates the process of retrieving the identity and intention that was once lost. The design intention is to design a series of spaces with different qualities and consideration of materiality to gradually push the user towards the final goal through the balanced and harmonized configurations of forms and spaces which enhance the process towards revivification.

“To restrain what is disturbing, rediscover what is forgotten, resurface what is remembered, revivify what was once withered.”
